I have a very small (we're talking about 30 oz) freezer stash that is rapidly approaching the 3 month mark, so I need to do something with it soon.
My boys took bottles early on, but it's been about 6 weeks since they've had one and now they are rejecting them. Also, I don't plan to start them on solids for another 2 months, so I can't mix it into cereal.
Even if I had enough to donate, I can't go that route b/c I'm on Zoloft.
Should I just offer it to my 2-year-old in a cup? My only concern there is that he is an awesome milk drinker, and I don't want to mess with a good thing... I know BM is way sweeter than cow's milk.
Any suggestions? I'd hate to have to throw it out, even though there's not much.... just not sure what to do with it.
TIA!
Re: What to do with extra milk
I have done this.
You also could look into donation through Human Milk for Human Babies. It is then up to the individual mother what she is comfortable with rather than an organization with set rules.
I talked to 2 lc's about this. They both said you can go past 3 months in the freezer.
