Dang, passed the Glucose Test..but

They said I have signs of some anemia. Was hoping to not have either, anyone else told they have anemia? If you do have it do you have any more information on it? Only thing I know is that I have to start taking Iron Supplement twice a day now.

Just wanting to know more details of what this means for me. As I have no clue.

 Thanks ladies.

Re: Dang, passed the Glucose Test..but

  • I have a really close friend who is anemic. It isn't maternity related, she isn't pregnant, but i figure it's probably the same deal. She just has to take iron supplements and they tweaked her diet a little bit because she was a vegetarian and not getting enough dietary iron. When her iron is low, she gets really tired, depressed, and her hair falls out. They test her every couple months. As long as she does what she's supposed to do and takes her supplements and eats properly, she's fine.

  • I was anemic last pregnancy- Super easy. All you do is take an iron pill, problem solved.

I am NOT anemic this time, but I haven't stopped taking iron/prenatal pills since last pregnancy, I kept up with them throughout breastfeeding and this pregnancy- the Dr said its usually recurrent in pregnancies, just FYI

  • I'm always right on the line even when I'm not pregnant, and AM anemic while pregnant. It's an easy problem to fix thoughjust an iron supplement each day. :

  • I'm anemic too. Been taking iron supplements for a month or two now-ish. I make sure to space out my milk intake and eat lots of vitamin C rich foods and chicken. It speeds up the absorption rate. You feel better faster. I can tell when I don't do that when I take my supplement. I'm not nearly as exhausted feeling.
