Baby on the brain x1000

My husband and I got married in May, I am 26 and just graduated from nursing school. I have been wanting a baby for sooo long! It's almost the only thing I've ever wanted but  I kept having to tell myself "wait til you get married" "wait til you graduate and have a career" Well now I have done both and I feel like there's nothing else to wait for. I am absolutely obsessed with thoughts of babies! My husband and I have decided that we will start TTC in December and I am going out of my mind waiting! I've actually already started baby registries, lol. I just can't wait until DECEMBER!! It'll be the best christmas present ever!! Anyway just thought I would share my frustration Big Smile

You do know that baby items go in and out of stock about every 3 months right?

You'd be better off spending your time learning to chart your BBT.  GL.

I completely understand your excitement.  With my first, I started taking a prenatal with DHA (rather than my normal multivitamin) four months before we started TTC and then browsed the bump every day for a couple of months before we started.  However, please know that you will have to scrap your registries when you do get pregnant, because like other posters have said, everything you picked will be out of stock by then.  It might be helpful for you to look and organize what you will actually need and start saving though.  Good luck!

Welcome, but please please don't assume you will get pregnant IN December.

You sound like me. I'm not quite where I need to be to TTC but I'm so excited and can't wait until we do try. GL and start charting! fertilityfriend.com is an excellent resource.

I have a little boy already and am thinking about TTC #2 later this fall.

I was super excited as well.  I had lists of names and pictures of things I wanted for the nursery.  You are right to be excited, it's a wonderful thing.

As others have said, it can also be unpredictable.  Charting helped me feel a little more in control (you could even start before you TTC to get used to it).

Be clam and realize that it may take time, but keep some of your excitment too - it's a really wonderful (and exhausting) phase of our lives!

    Good luck,

If the registry is just for fun, go for it.  But ditto the others saying it won't be stuff that'll still be available.  Like a PP said, your time would be better spent learning about your body so that you give yourself the best chance at getting pregnant.  Trust me, those 9 months are long and registering for a baby you know you're having is much more fun than doing one now and gives you something to take up the time.

=) Good Luck!! The wait is not too far away (easier said than done LOL).

Just remember that the time you spend now with your husband before the baby comes is priceless - we waiting 2 years (until done with school and more financially stable) and I wouldn't trade the last two years for anything...

I'm right there with you! Like PPs mentioned, I started temping and charting 6 months ago, taking prenatals with DHA, getting into great shape and eating really well. I was also telling myself "just wait until you graduate/get married/get a job" and now that all that's been accomplished, I'm just antsy to get started. Even if/when it doesn't happen right away, it will feel like I'm at least doing something to make progress rather than just waiting to start trying.

As for the baby registry, you're not alone! I've been adding things to an Amazon wishlist for a long time just to give me an idea of things I think I'll like or want to remember. Sure, things like particular outfits or bedding will go out of stock/season pretty quickly, but lots of stuff doesn't change. It never hurts to be more prepared, as long as you know that you'll probably have to change things down the line.
