My DD is scared of thunder too, especially at night. We've talked about how thunder can't hurt her, it's just a sound way up in the sky, it's the sound clouds make when they're bumping together to make rain, yadda yadda yadda. Nothing helps. So honestly, we've started allowing her to sleep in our bed on nights when a bad thunderstorm wakes her up. It helps us all get some sleep, and if it makes her feel better and safer then I think it's okay at this age. Thunder even scares me sometimes, so I'm sure it's super scary when you don't fully understand what it is and where it's coming from. kwim?

She is terrified of thunder at night. DH always goes up and sleeps in her bed. I figure it doesn't storm that often and she does not ask for us to sleep with her at any other time, so why not. DH doesn't get the greatest night sleep but it's usually just one night or part of the night.
