I've posted before on how many problems we are having with our SW, but Friday she took the cake! We had a stork drop opportunity, but she would not send the homestudy because it was with an attorney, not an agency. Then she said even if she did send it, it says we won't consider birth parents with addictions, so it could still be a problem.
Long story short, we have done way more research on addictions and different drugs since our homestudy was done in the winter, and have very different opinions based on that research. So we are asking her to amend the homestudy. Now she wants to discuss our reasoning behind the changes.
Ok - that is not unreasonable. But I am still so angry from last week...
Has anyone amended their homestudy like this before? Any thoughts?
And to answer the question that always seems to come up when I post about problems - we do NOT have an attorney. We've had no need for one up to this point.
Re: Amending our homestudy and vent...
Our SW is part of an agency, so I'm guessing she has done it before. I just worry that she is going to make it a much bigger deal than it has to be. Ugh.
Thanks!
I never had any issues w/ammendments. And no real concerns about our openness levels changing. It shouldnt' be this hard... sorry
