My LO was born a day after your LO. I've been pumping only to encourage my milk supply and supplement, bc LO had slightly elevated bilirubin and needed the milk to push things through. However since then I've gotten cracked/bleeding nipples and am in too much pain to allow him to nurse.
Im only getting a little more than 1.5 oz every pump session. (as of twice pumping today)
Also, I've had to supplement (per Dr. orders) temporarily until my supply increases.

I'm not an expert, but 1.5 ounces per session sounds like plenty for a 5 day old baby. Their tummies start out so tiny. How much does your doctor think LO should be eating?

I agree.
At that age, my DD was back in the hospital due to jaundice. I was pumping after every feed in case she got hungry before I was allowed to take her out from under the bili light and was getting 50ml to an ounce. Which was a LOT.
Oversupply sucks. Put down the pump for several weeks and just nurse unless you're EPing.

I get a minimum of 70ml every 3 hours. But the most I have gotten in one session was 182ml, but that was after waiting about 4 hours, and I was so full I thought I was going to pop.
Re: How much did you/are you pumping @ 1 week
That's a normal amount.
Keep up the pumping frequency for the first 3-4 weeks - aim for 10-12 session per day. They don't need to be equally spaced in time.

none! Put down the pump and just focus on establishing BFing with your baby.
Pumping so early can lead to serious oversupply. I always thought a little oversupply sounded like a good thing, but it's not, trust me.
edit: I re-read and maybe you're EP-ing... if so, nevermind...
This! Unless you are planning to EP, you shouldn't be pumping this early.
