A few weeks ago, my milk supply dropped significantly. I went from 30 + ounces per day to 15 or so. I've tried fenugreek, brewers yeast, lactation cookies, mothers milk tea, lots of water, oatmeal, pumping every 2 hours, increasing frequency of nursing, etc. Medications were a last resort. I was given a script for Reglan (1 week, 4X's per day) and had awesome results. Within a few days, I was breastfeeding/pumping a total of 35-40 ounces daily. (We weigh my LO before and after nursing so we know how many ounces she is consuming) Within a few days of stopping the med, my supply started to drop. I called the MD and got one more week, but he will not give me any more after this is gone. I order Domperidone from the internet and I'm waiting for it to arrive. I'd love to know about other people's experiences with this drug.
Firstly, for those who have taken Domperidone to increase milk supply, did it work for you, how quickly did you see a change, & what dose did you take?
Secondly, has anyone had success with reglan, then success with domperidone too?
Thanks in advance for your time and responses.
Re: Domperidone/Reglan Experiences
I took Reglan for one week and saw results on day two I believe. I only took it for about 5 days though, I was so scared of the side effects I read about on the internet.
A few weeks after taking Reglan, I started taking Domperidone. I have been taking dom of about 4 months now. I used to take 3-4 pills, 3-4 times a day. But now I just take 6 pills in the morning and 6 pills before bed. The timing of taking the pills didn't change anything for me.
I have had great success with dom. I saw results in about 3-4 days.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. They are very helpful. I tried to find a post addressing someone's experience with both and was not successful. I'm just nervous that, although I experienced wonderful results with Reglan, I may not experience success with Dom. It is great to know that some of you have used both and had good results with both. Wish my shipment would just hurry up.
