Breastfeeding

So sad

I have over 200 oz in my freezer (milk free) and now I am on top 8 free so we most likely won't get to use it since DS has another allergy, we just don't know what it is yet. So many hours spent pumping for my little man, and DH just said he was glad we would have more freezer room... I just want to hit him!

(fwiw I am going to hang onto it until we figure out the allergy, just Incase, so DH is going to have to wait for more space)

Thanks for listening to my vent, I know you ladies understand!

Re: So sad

  • Ugh, not fun - so sorry!  If your LO can't use, maybe you can donate it to a milk bank so you don't have to just throw it away...that would at least make me feel slightly better about if I were in your shoes.  Hope you figure out the allergy soon!

  • If your son can't use it, you can find a baby that can on human milk 4 human babies (search for your city on facebook).

I hope you figure out what's going on with your son, and that you can find a use for your hard earned milk no matter what.

Do they take milk from people on medication? I live on allergy medication, I thought that would disqualify me.

  • HM4HB is mother to mother, so I'm sure you could find someone that doesn't mind an allergy med.

Actual milk banks (that provide milk for babies in hospital, mostly) are very selective.

  • Don't dump the milk you have positive proof about the allergy (and what's causing it). So many people cry "allergy"! at the  slightest gassiness/fuss from their baby. Real allergies are not that common.

  • I had the same problem and I donated about 200 oz. I wasn't on medication so I donated to a milk bank, but I am sure you can find a mama who doesn't mind on Human Milk 4 Human Babies if need be. It really hurt to see my stash disappear, but I know have a stash again, so there is hope!
