6 weeks early, 1 day before her sister's 1st birthday, but she's here and healthy! :
Water broke yesterday morning 8:45am at 33 weeks 6 days. Admitted at 9:20am; contractions started at 1:20pm. We tried meds to hold them off but it never lasted long. Contractions intensified quickly. Emery Claire stayed breech and was born via RCS at 8:33pm. Beautiful and healthy: 4lb 7oz, 17 inches. Her cries were the most beautiful sound! APGAR scores of 9! Breathing on her own. She's in the NICU for monitoring but doing great. Still so surreal that she's here already. I got to the post partum room at midnight after a NICU visit and started pumping right away. Followed up with hand expression, which was more successful. Right now I'm just trying to stimulate production, but getting some colostrum to give to Emery makes me feel so good.
I'm happy to have such positive news, but know we have a long road ahead of us still. And now reality is setting in that I have two such little girls and the older one has no idea what's happening to her world which is a good and bad thing, I guess. :
