Poor DD got her 2 month vaccinations today and took them like a trooper. She only cried for about 30 seconds and then was back to her normal cheerful self. So that part was 'Yay'
We got home and she took a nap for about an hour at which point she woke up a little bit and I decided to go and get her to let her get some day time in (we're still working on day vs night). Anyway, she was fussing at me when I changed her diaper and when I put on the new diaper she started wailing. I noticed that the cloth diaper is a bit bulky so the bottom was rubbing along her thigh which was probably pretty sore. I also saw that the bandaid was doing nothing to help and was bubbling up in the middle and getting in the way. She was already doing her 'I'm really mad' cry - the kind of cry that I get when I use the Nosefrida - so I decided to yank off the bandaid while I was there.... Mistake - She cried so hard that she stopped breathing... I will never do that again. The other bandaid is just going to have to rot off of her body. Why put a bandaid on an infant anyway? She only bled one drop of blood and the adhesive is WAY more of a problem. : ( : ( : ( Poor baby.

Re: seemed like a good idea at the time
But oh my goodness, I wouldn't have even tried the day he had the shots. His one leg was obviously super sore because he wasn't kicking like he was kicking the other. And he cried and cried until I figured out a way to hold him and nurse him that didn't have the sore spots touching anything. Can't wait for 4 months...
2 tips, put her in the bathtub with you and let the glue warm up.
and then make sure you hold the skin taught when pulling the band aid off. It makes it A LOT less painful. Try it on yourself first if you need practice.
I draw blood so I deal with a ton of bandaids. Baby oil will seep through the holes. Our tape remover at the hospital is basically lemon scented baby oil. Like PP said, warm water, hold her little leg so its tight, and pull slowly. Or if you need to, lift it just a touch and keep rubbing baby oil under the ledge until you work it off.
Adhesive is really irritating to skin, so I would try to get it off as soon as you can. She was already mad, so it will probably be better next time!
Good luck!
