Downsizing the diaper bag

So I am ready to downsize the diaper bag but I am not ready for just a diapers and wipes case (too small).  Any suggestions ladies?

I'm planning on getting a preschool-sized backpack for her for Christmas. It should fit diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, and a snack, which should be all we need at this point. I will start to carry a purse again.

Nope.. I hate diaper bags...hate big purses...

I have this bag from Longchamp:

(sorry not clicky, chrome wont let me). This is the big one and there is also a medium one. I had the medium one for about 10 years as my regular purse and finally replaced it with this one (even though most people couldn't tell it was worn unless they looked close). I'm using it as my purse/diaper bag and it's nice to be using a purse again! It's big enough to fit a snack, a couple cloth diapers/wipes wet bag, his water, sunscreen, his hat, plus my wallet, phone, keys, etc. If I need to pack a lunch for him too, I bring a lunch bag (we have one of those BUILT bags).

I have this same bag (different color) -- I had it before having DD, and I've been using it again recently because I want something less diaper bag-ish. I wish it had more pockets inside, but it is definitely roomy enough to fit all of the baby essentials. I have had my eye on this one from Etsy, but the Longchamp one is working well now, so I can't justify getting another:
