We had to give our dog to a no kill shelter today that we've had for 4 years because he's been biting people and we just can't risk it now that we have our girls. Probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.

I'm so sorry to hear this! I have two dogs that I love as well, and it would be so heartbreaking to have to get rid of them. Even though it's terribly sad, I think you did the right thing. Hopefully he will find a good home. On another note, your baby girls are beautiful!

I'm so sorry, but it seems like that was the best option.  We have a very mild tempered mix collie/shepherd, she was starting to snap at the kids because they were pulling on her.  Luckily my MIL likes her and FIL absolutely adores her so they're keeping her until our kids learn how to treat her with respect.  I thought we'd have to get rid of her, but you have to watch out for your kids above all else.  I'm sorry that you had to give her up, but I'm sure they'll find her a great home and everyone will be happier.

You've done the right thing.  We had to give our 1 1/2yr old min pin to a no kill min pin shelter because turns out he didn't like babies or kids.  It was for sure the hardest thing we've had to do.  With time it gets easier but just know that for your girls you did the right thing.

So hard to do, but you did the right thing. We had our dog for 5 yeas, and put him to slep in February. He was a mutt, but weighed about 95 lbs. we had rescued him from a shelter. He was great with DD at first, but got extremely protective of our home over time. We couldnt even have guests over without having to put him outside. We tried everything...in home trainer, rehoming, etc, but when he started to bite people,we knew this was best. I would never forgive myself if he bit my daughter. Jut know you gave him a good life, and it does get easier with time

That is so tough to do!!!!! We gave away a dog a few years ago to friends and I balled my eyes out for like a week.  Better choice for him though,  remember it is a better choice for your family.  Sorry.

So sorry to hear this! I know how tough that is but I'm glad you were able to make that choice for your family. Hope the transition goes well for everyone.

Thanks ladies, I'm glad to hear i'm not the only one that has had to do this. I felt so bad, I couldnt' even take him in my DH had to do it.  We've both been a mess the past 2 days.  I appreciate all the kind words!
