Hi, thanks in advance for any tips you can give me. I dont think I've posted here before, but might need to tap into your wisdom once in a while
I use BumGenius CDs for DS2. These questions are based off the instructions that come with the diapers.
1. it says to use 1/4 the amount of detergent. Does that include the eco-friendly, clothe diaper 'specific' type detergents?
2. I do a cold wash first, followed by a hot wash. Should I do detergent for both washes, or the first only?
3. It says to rinse twice. Does that include the rinse during the hot wash cycle, (so I'm just re-rinsing once) or is that cold wash, hot wash, rinse, rinse?
Thanks so much!
Re: A few laundering questions...
1. Use what the detergent recommends.
2. Cold rinse or short wash, no detergent. Put the detergent in the hot wash.
3. Yes, just rinse once after the hot wash.
Most people do: cold rinse (no soap), hot wash with one rinse and soap, extra rinse.

Thanks!
Agree with following directions on the detergent.
My wash routine is a little different, we do a hot rinse, then a hot wash with detergent and then one more cold rinse in addition to the cold rinse on the wash cycle, so rinse/wash/rinse/rinse. The argument is that the hot rinse at the beginning helps better break down any solids in the diapers at the beginning, but if you don't have any solids, a cold rinse is fine too.
