Re: FFFC!!!

  • This is more of a LONG personal vent.

I hate hate hate my job. I didn't used to hate it so much, but it has gotten bad and I can't wait to get out of here.

I work directly with 2 other people but it is a very corporate/international company which means boss on top of boss on top of boss. Us three individuals are the ones working directly on the field with clients and we are the ones making them money. Anyhow my boss within my office fell into an amazing new job and has left this past week. :( It has been a crazy arse two weeks with 70 new clients moving in and now I am undertaking her job which includes triple the phone calls and emails, all while trying to figure out how to do her job. On a side-note, I don't make enough money as it is and I have no plans to return here after the new baby comes.. it is just not worth it financially. I have had only 2 pay increases since working there for 5 years (they put a hold on all merit increases because of the economy, right when I was due for my first raise.)

So the area manager (who is a sneaky little thing) approaches me last week and asks me if I would be interested in my previous boss' position with NO pay increase!!! Hahaha, yeah right! I said no thanks. All along I know that the sneaky manager actually wants to come to our location because it is closer to her home and less responsibilty. And what do you know.... She is getting the job.. while get this.... making $30k-$40k more than me!!!

So onto my FFC... I am totally zoned out. I am no longer making any effort to be productive other than for the clients I like. I am not doing anything extra and she is getting thrown everything! I am looking for side contract work to do from home and as soon as I can get it set up... I'm outta here!

  • My kid did not have a breakfast for champions this morning, more like a brekafast for losers. In my desperation to get him to eat anything, I followed up his Bagelful (which he only sucked the filling out of) with Marshmallow Fruit Loops. Thankfully (?) he only ate a few of them. Ugh. I miss my good eater!

  • I didnt go all out and have the most amazing 1st birthday for my DD thats lots of you ladies have done for your LO's. I dont remember my first birthday and I am not living an angry life because my parents didnt give me a smash cake and invite the whole fam damily.

We spent the day at the lake(mommy, daddy and DD) and Dad bbq'd us supper then we went for a walk. We didnt get to eat the cake because she got tired early so we are having cake this afternoon. I didnt even put on her birthday outfit I HAD to have...she wore her swimsuit.

This weekend we are going to my moms where my sister and her family will be and while my niece and DD sit in the kiddie pool, we will sit "pool side" and drink sangrias. I can pretty much guarantee that she will not know the event is for her.

I was stress free and didnt plan a thing and dont feel bad at all.

I'm so, so jealous of the way you celebrated your DD's birthday.  I let myself get talked into a small party, which, of course, grew into the larger party that I was trying to avoid.  My family is helping with the cooking and cleaning and hostessing, which is great, but I am worried I am not going to get to enjoy the party myself.  Hopefully I'm wrong.  But, kudos to you for celebrating your way!

  • This entire week, I think I probably actually worked a total of 20 hours. The other 20 hours have been spent on the internet, on long lunches, or on the phone. Sloooooooow summer...

  • I have another one... I'm just b*tchy this week. LOL

I don't understand why a woman would get knocked up when her relationship with SO is rocky or if he had recently cheated?! (Sure accidents happen.. so thats something different.) And then they are all bummed out when he leaves while she's got a little one. I mean really... did you think a baby was gonna make it all better?

Wow.. that was judgy and kinda mean. Sorry.....

  • I was a surprised by how many people said they don't bathe their LOs everyday.  (I'm referring to the recent bath time poll.)  I think it's kinda icky actually.  I understand doing a wipe down, or wiping hands, feet, face, etc., but I like LO to have a clean bottom area.  At this age, I think babies should get bathed everyday, except maybe if you're out later than normal, or it's some other special circumstance.

DS inherited a skin condition from me and his doctor only wants us to bathe him twice a week for now.

  • I can definitely understand that... a special circumstance. :)
