My husband and I had 3 miscarriages June 2008, November 2008 and may 2009 since then I've been to broken to try again, well we are ready now. All 3 mc ended between 911 weeks and testing showed all babies were trisomy 16. I was put on promethium and curious if any of u have had luck after such events. I am close to 32... Clock is tickibg
Re: Trisomy 16
I'm going to echo ncchnat here. PgAL and PAL are better for success stories.
I.m so sorry for your losses. Welcome to the board.
Have you and your done any genetic counselling?

I'm really sorry about your 3 losses.
Probably if all 3 losses were due to trisomy 16, you and your DH should have more extensive testing. That seems beyond coincidence that you just happened to conceive and then miscarry 3 fetuses with the same dx. Prometrium isn't going to alter the DNA of a fetus.
And 32 is not old BTW, but I know what you mean about feeling some urgency.
I hope you find solace on this board and move quickly on to PgAL. GL!
ETA Your doctor is an idiot. You don't have to have 4 losses to have genetic counseling - you had 3 losses for THE SAME reason. I'd push it with that doc or switch docs. You don't need to put up with that nonsense.
Dx: balanced translocation and LPD

That seems odd, it's not like you had 3 different chromosomal problems, you had 3 incidences of the same chromosomal issue. There must some reason why it's always the 16th chromosomal pair. You and DH should be tested to determine if the 16th chromosome pair is mutated in one of you and does not separate properly during sperm/egg production.
If it was me, I'd get a second opinion. Sometimes you have to advocate for yourself.
ETA: Sorry if t comes off strongly. I don't mean to try to diagnose you. It's just that I feel your doctor should be checking this before you try again. It seems like maybe more than coincidence.

I would check with your ins. company about this. The 4 loss bit may be your dr's rec or protocol but most ins. companies will pay after 2 if there is known cause and almost all after 3 losses. Many ins. companies do not require a referral. I know mine does not and no policy that I've ever been on since being an independent adult has actually required a referral for a specialist.
I'm very sorry for your losses.
All of this!

♥♡♥ PAL/PGAL welcome♥♡♥I agree with other posters... you should definitely check with your insurance company and/or get a new doctor. my husband and i had a daughter who was diagnosed with trisomy 13 at our anatomy scan (we carried her to term and had about a half hour with her). she was our first (and so far, only) child and we were both able to have genetic testing covered by our insurances. i highly recommend looking further into this...
