Newborn playtime

DD seems to sleep SO much still, and she's almost 2 months actual (2 weeks adjusted).  She absolutely hates tummy time, so I do modified with her and I laying belly to belly, but I feel like we should be doing more "play".  What types of play/stimulation do you do with your little ones?

truthfully at that adjusetd age we did very little playing, she basically ate, slept and pooped mostly.  we started tummy time that early but she hated it and it would last all of 2 minutes. We did do "tummy time' on our chests because she wouldnt go down ANYWHERE so she was always being carried. We had issues with her being easily overstimulated though. Best thing to do is talk to her, right now she can practice focusing on your face and learning how to recognize mom and dad

We do tracking with him- we take a stimulating toy and have him follow it back and forth.  I also saw online a cool thing- although we haven't tried it yet.  It was to lay with them in a dark room and shine a flashlight on different things.  We read to him a lot.  He has an activity mat that he really likes.  He will watch the toys hanging off of it and try to hit them.  We have also bought some situlating games that are more for when he's older but he still likes to watch the lights and movement.   And sometimes we just talk to him.  He loves to stare at us when were talking.  Hope that helps a little.
