Just wanted to share this idea that came to me this week...
I went back to work on Tuesday and DS started daycare, so I have been working on my morning routing with him. I quickly discovered that it would be amazing to have a nursing bra that would hold the pumps in place so that my two hands were free. They cost typicaly around $34.99, but I thought that I could easily make one with items that I already had around the house. Here's how:
- Take a form fitting tank-top that you are willing to cut. It needs to be a tight tank top or else your pump bottles will sag too much.
- Put it on and note the location that your nipples sit naturally.
- Without cutting yourself, cut a hole about the size of an inch in that spot. The idea is that you are going to make a hole big enough to allow the pump shield to fit through, but small enough that they don't sag or fall out.
- When you go to nurse, put the shields on through the inside of the tank top so that the small ends are pointing out. You should not be able to see the shields through the holes. You are going to look like a femm-bot from Austin Powers. Take a moment to laugh at yourself.
- Attach the rest of the pumps to the shield and Voila! Done!
I am testing it this morning and it is working like a charm.
