No, I'm not pregnant, sillies. Today's blood test and yesterday's pee test were, as usual, big ol' BFNs.
But after my little chat with my RE this afternoon, it's official that we are moving on to IVF. My lame-ass response to Clomid means it doesn't make sense to take it again. She doesn't prescribe Femara. And we both agreed that due to the higher multiples risk and lower success rate (vs. IVF) of injectable IUI cycles, it makes no sense to bother with them as long as my insurance covers IVF. I am also hoping we will have leftover embryos for a second kid down the line, which means I don't have to worry about a) banking sperm for a sibling or b) the state of my eggs at 37+, which is when we'd probably be ready for #2. So all in all, I think this is a good thing. I'm excited about moving forward, but I'm terrified that it won't work and we'll be at the end of the road with no baby.
I just downloaded the giant info packet from the patient portal and we are trying to figure out whether to skip a cycle to relax or not. We both have work issues this fall and a vacation in November, and we need to figure out how best to work around that. But here goes nothing!
Re: It's official.

Its a great plan! And, you're right, with the insurance coverage IVF makes a ton of sense financially so you can save $$ on sperm.
Having gone through it I can assure you than seeing the IVF protocol on paper and prepping for the cycle is far more overwhelming than it actually is going through it.
You are on your way!!

Cautiously optimistic.
Definitely sorry about this cycle's BFN, but excited for you that you have a solid plan, AND that your insurance covers IVF!
For the record, we took an extra month/cycle off after my surgery last winter so that we could go on a planned cruise vacation with friends. I'm really glad we did that, it worked for us.
