ALL Molars coming in - when did your babys start?

I took my daughter into the Dr. office because I thought she had an ear infection (always grabbing at her ears) come to find out from the Dr. it appears as if all of her molars (top and bottom) are coming in at the same time!  She is still missing one of her front teeth too!

Poor kid has been miserable.  She barely eats...

What is your experience?  Any input would be appreciated.

If the house ain't burned down and the baby's fed it was a successful day. Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

  • Mine has 3 molars breaking through right now. Orajel always puts him at ease.

  • It took like, 3 months. It wasn't always bad but every so often he would have 3 or 4 terrible days, and then go back to normal. It wasn't until all 4 points broke through that we got consistent relief. The eye teeth came in right after that, but they were a piece of cake comparitively.

  • DS had all his come in over the last two months. Ibuprofen helped us get through the nights, Orajel would occasionally help too.

  • There are 2 sets of molars.

Finn cut 1 year molars right around his first birthday and cut his 2 year molars from May-July (so he finished at 21 months).  We are done teething, woohoo!

1 year molars were awful, canines were beyond awful, and 2 year molars weren't so bad.  He basically stopped eating like a normal child around his first birthday and we are hoping the pickiness goes away eventually.

  • DD2 is 16 mo and she her 1st set of top molars are coming in now.  It's painful for her and we have been using ibuprofen.

IMO-it's great your LO is getting all at once v. one at a time. I'd rather go thru one bad week than 4 wks.

  • LO#2 started getting her 1st molar at about 9 1/2 - 10 mos. She never really fussed, but she drools like crazy! Sometimes I put the amber teething necklace on her, but not much changes and she still drools a lot.
