Emergency cerclage success stories??

If you do I need it now. At my weekly check today my cervix has gone from 2.5 to 8mm. I am also fingertip dilated. I'm being monitored in LD right now and depending on what they see I may have to get a cerclage today. I am so scared! Has anyone had a cerclage this late and had success??

Hi, I'm so sorry. I did have a cerclage at 13 weeks and managed to carry ds until 36 weeks.  I was going to have one with my dd at 22 weeks but I was dialated to a 2 and had a bulging bag so it wouldn't have worked. It sounds like you were checked at the right time and they caught it early enough!  Try not to be scared, I know easier said than done, the procedure itself isn't too bad, they give you a spinal so you don't feel it and it's relatively quick. Hang in there! Sending you lots of T&P's and looking forward to an update.  ((Hugs))

I've never had a cerclage, but I wanted to tell you that you and your LO are in my T&Ps.  Many hopes that the contractions let up and they are able to get the cerclage in...and that it then does its job.

Please update us when you can.

Hey Lovey!  First *HUGE HUGS*  I'm sorry you're even in this position.  I had my cerclage with Emma at 13-14 weeks.  I was too far along to have one with Logan.  I didn't personally have an emergency cerclage, but I did meet a few girls and spend alot of time talking to others who have.  I've heard of emergency cerclages combined with bed rest and their cervix actually got longer.  Again, sending *hugs* and sending lots of T & P.
