Is it possible the replacement battery is no good? A lot of times if the batter doesn't have full charge, the smoke alarm will continue to chirp. Also make sure the battery is in the right way. If it's still annoying, just remove the battery until you can fix it. Their might be a little switch or button that needs to be pushed on it to reset it. GL!

Gah this shittt tjust happened to us... At goddamn 4 am no less. They are hard-wired and all started going off... I cutabitch (actually DH)
Anyway, they are super sensitive and get dust in them. Get one of those compressed air cans that you use to clean off a keyboard, put the thing down and clean it off. I did this with all of them and now they are all working fine (i.e. not blaring in the middle of the night).
This happened to us too! It sucked!
Since they are hard-wired, I would change the batteries in all of them and hit the reset button on each one.

Next time you throw out a smoke alarm, don't wrap it in a blanket that says, "Property of Phoebe Buffay, NOT Monica."
I did the whole "WHY WONT YOU STOP BEEPING!!!" at 230am.
Are you sure its even your smoke alarm and not your carbon monoxide alarm i used to be a superintendent and soooo many people would be like "it wont stop beeping" turns out it was their carbon alarm that needed batteries

Yep, I replaced the batteries in those last week and they have been nice and quiet since.
