skin tag on nipple, ouch!

Hi! So this is a little embarassing but I've got a thing that's kind of like a sking tag on my nipple. Its basically exaclty like a skin tag but its made of the nipple tissue, if that makes any sense. We are at 12 weeks now and it hasn't been a problem really until the last week or so.
LO has a tendency to somehow suck on it occasionally and it hurts! We go to the pediatrician next week so I will ask her about it then. If I get it removed I'm worried it will affect my supply and won't heal right or something.
Do you think I just need to suck it up? Its very sore!

I would talk to a dermatologist. If they remove it, insurance will cover it because it hurts you and is affecting breastfeeding. I would see what the dermatologist thinks, weigh the pros and cons of having it removed - how big is it, how much does the doctor think it will affect your supply, is there any healing time, etc.
That sounds painful, GL!
