I am 3 weeks post c/s and wonder if you all have any recommendations for a cream I could use to reduce the appearance of the incision scar?  I am thinking something like mederma?  Any other good products you have used?

I just use coco butter lotion.  Mederma is such a scam.  You might want to wait a few more weeks to put anything on your scar.  My OB told me to wait until after he saw me at 6 weeks to make sure that everything had healed fine.

I waited 6 weeks before I put anything on there. I used cocoa butter.  My skin near incision and all over belly became extremely dry and flaky. I used baby oil, and it took away the dry skin.

Definitely wait until 6 weeks pp, to make sure your doctor okays you to put anything on your incision. And like a PP mentioned, Mederma is just expensive lotion. Some people swear cocoa butter helps, but honestly, just keeping the area moisturized and drinking lots of water is going to help you heal the most.

Don't do anything to it right now.  Actually you can scar worse if you start messing with a scar before the incision is actually healed.  Moisturizer is great for scars, but I would wait until your ok from your dr. at 6 weeks.  You don't want to cause infections, etc. at this point.

My dr who also hada c section swears by vitamin e out of the capsule.  I use 2 every day
