I've got a head cold/sore throat and in dying to take some meds but my first obgyn appt isn't until next week ugh! Any advice/wise words? I can't sleep and I sound like an old smoker!
Get a good humidifier, you can suck on Ricola cough drops (herbal ones) Tylenol is about only pain med you can take. I also used a throat spray to numb my throat with my first pregnancy, the itching was unbearable otherwise.
You can get some Vapo Rub! That helped me with my last pregnancy when I was super sick. You can also call the nurse even if you haven't had your appointment and see what they suggest.

I agree with getting some vapor rub. It REALLY helped me.
I was sick in my 7th week. My doctor said Sudafed is fine for those with normal blood pressure. She said I am fine to take it in the future as well. It is not recommended for higher blood pressures because of clotting.
Ugh, I'm sick too! I'm glad you posted this and will definitely use some of the suggestions. Hope you feel better!

Sorry you're not feeling well :-( I'm just getting used to the fact that I'm going to feel pretty crappy for about 8 more months. I can't sleep, I feel nauseated pretty much 24/7, and there's nothing I can do. It sucks!! I would just try to drink plenty of fluids, rest up, and relax. Cough drops should be fine :-)

I also pulled out the humidifier. It did wonders!

Here is a website I came across on TheBump a few weeks ago. Hope this helps. Sorry, not sure how to make it clicky.
