Weekly Chore List/Schedule

Do you have a weekly chore schedule you follow?   Ex: bathroom Wednesdays?  Are some items monthly?

I don't pull my weight around the house as far as housekeeping goes, and I'm going to try to make a schedule.  I'd love some ideas.

I find it is MUCH easier (especially this late in the game) to do a little bit every day.  some things need to be combined, like dusting with vacuuming, and the bathrooms get done all in one shot, but I typically won't wash the shower, vacuum and clean the bathrooms all in one day.  If you work, I suggest the longer/ more difficult things get left to the weekend, but I don't have a set schedule.

I don't have a schedule, because DH's and my work hours fluctuate. I do what I can during the week, and the basics - dishes, wipe down kitchen counters, put things away - get done every day.

Sunday is generally our big housecleaning day. We always do all the laundry, vacuum, clean the bathroom, and cook/prep food for the week on Sundays.

Our schedule on the weekdays and weekends is so hetic and inconsistent that I tend to tackle housework whenever I can. I work from home one or two days a week, but those days always vary depending on what is going on in the office, so I usually do chores then....or on the weekends if we are home...which is rare.

Maybe this baby will help us settle in and actually spend some time at home?? I hope so!!

Typically, I like to do everything in one shot as far as cleaning, mostly because I just feel relaxed when the whole house is clean. Friday is cleaning day, and I also try to get the sheets and any other linens washed that day as well.

I do at least one load of laundry every other day. My husband has been known to go through 3 outfits a day.

I also try to vacuum every 3 days. We have a golden retriever who has free reign of the house, including beds, couches, so it's a lot to keep up with.

The kitchen gets a quick cleaning on a daily basis.

Thankfully, we have a maid starting today, who will come every other week until baby is born, and we are able to get settled and back into our routine. Hopefully, she'll be amazing, and I'll only have to worry about upkeep.

Well........... I clean in one shot, too... but it's because I hate it and never keep up with things.  I cleaned by myself for 8 hours yesterday and there's no way that's getting done every weekend.  Plus, our weekends are usually booked so it puts us in a pickle.  

I think I'm going to get a cleaning lady after my maternity leave is over.
