A former coworker (fellow teacher) had the last name Devlin. Everyone- students and staff both- called her 'Devil' behind her back. And in the case of students, sometimes to her face.

Yes!  I thought if I mentioned this people would think I'm nuts.  I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of this.

I'd strongly caution against naming a child something that sounds like "devil."

Also I keep hearing "I'm devilin' eggs" in my head when I look at it.
