easy to use carrier

I love my moby wrap. It is completely awesome. My daughter adores it too. Hooray for babywearing; I'm a believer. My husband loves the process of babywearing as well, but he has a lot of trouble negotiating the wrapping of the moby (I always have to help him do it as he has to tie it in back and he can't tie something behind his back). I'd like to buy another carrier that is not a wrap (ie. one the hubs can just put on, insert baby and go) but is good and easy to find. I'm familiar with the baby bjorn and with the ergo. Any other good suggestions? Bonus if I can buy it at BRU or target as we have gift cards.

  • I'm pretty sure the only good quality ssc you can get at BRU and Target is the Ergo. I actually saw them on sale at Target this week :)

  • Ergo. It can be easily put on alone if you snap the upper clasp & then just put your head through, your arms through the backpack like "sleeves" & reach around your waist to clip the bottom clasp. Voila! It's worth the cost. Baby bjorn is terrible IMO. I have every wrap out there besides a hiking one,,, by then, my kid will be hiking alongside on their own :))))

  • I have a rundown of carrier types in my siggy link but it sounds like the Ergo might fit the bill as you could use your gift cards for it.  There are a lot more options online and at "boutique" shops though should you want to try other things.
  • i love my ring sling because it is super easy on/easy off, and it has a pocket in the tail so i don't have to take a diaper bag if i'm just running out for a bit.
it does get a bit uncomfortable for long periods (more than 2 hours) since it's over one shoulder, but DD seems to like it.

i have the infantino Sash mei tai and i wore it yesterday for less than two hours and it killed my back and hips. i'm never using it again. it made me reluctant to try any other mei tai.

the moby was way to hot for me to use, and just so much flipping fabric! i dream someday of using a fancy woven wrap, but i don't know if i can handle it. :(
