Bennett came home from the NICU after 16 days there. We are so happy to have him home and for his big brother to finally meet him...he was too young to go into the NICU. He actually got to come home on his big brothers 3rd birthday.
For you ladies who have babies learning how to use the bottle, it REALLY is overnight and kinda a light switch type of moment. Bennett tried for 12 days and started off taking 10cc's then moved up and up and one day it just clicked. He started eating full bottles on Wednesday, they moved him to an open crib after eating every single bottle on Wednesday and he came home on Saturday.
Also for you ladies who have your LO's or have had your LO's in the nicu for an extended period of time, bless your heart! I was literally breaking emotionally after 16 days.
Re: my little guy is home from NICU!
That's awesome! I'm so happy for you!
...disclaimer the feeding bit, though. It isn't like that in every situation.

Yay! Congrats for your LO coming home! What a special birthday for his Big Brother!
My Flynn was in for 6 weeks and it was so hard but any time in the NICU is tough. Glad your little guy had a short visit!

It's a great feeling bringing our LOs home from the NICU. Our little guy was in for 26 days.. talk about heartbreaking when I was discharged and he had to stay.
We were the same way with the feeding. Some days he had to use the feeding tube, some days he took part of the bottle, once in a while he took the whole thing. Eventually it just clicked for him. He's up to 4 or 5 ounces per feeding now at home. Hard to believe he started off with a teaspoon..
