Well, I guess it's a c-section for us. I was hoping for a VBAC, but due to extensive tearing from the last time, it was deemed to dangerous. I'm a little disappointed, but whatever is safer for baby and me. I'm dreading the recovery, last time wasn't very good. I'm hoping that this time will go easier since I won't be in labor for a long time. I'm also concerned about lifting my toddler. We are scheduled for Dec 11th. I have been reading the previous posts about recoveries, but anymore tips that you may have would be wonderful. TIA.
Re: C-section scheduled
Err on the side of caution - there are plenty of posts on here about "easy" recoveries, but there are plenty who have trouble.
As far as planning, go through your day thinking of how a c-section would affect your daily tasks. Example: If you live in a two-story house, think through how you could do things if you are unable to go up and down stairs. Maybe start preparing your toddler for not being able to be picked up as much? (I only have one, so no personal experience there.)
Just plan to go slowly and don't jump into things.
And make sure you have clothes that won't rub on your incision. My c-section was unplanned, so I hadn't planned for that.
