Twins on the way, sexes are a surprise. Boy names are set, but cannot for the life of me find girl names I like! Hubby likes Keira...overall thoughts on the name? Which spelling do you prefer? Suggestions on MN? If you don't like the name, suggestions on others? Big sis is Lauren Nicole. Thanks!

I like the name Keira and I prefer this spelling. Other suggestions: Charlotte, Audrey, Carys, Stella, Mia, Ava.

I like Keira a lot. When I see Kyra, the first pronunciation that comes to mind is Ky-ra (like Kyla Ross from the US Olympic team)

I would pronounce Kyra as "Kye-rah." So if you're shooting for a "Keer-a" sound, I'd go with the first option!

I love them both. My nieces name is Kyra (pronounced Kye-rah) and I have always loved Keira.

Same for me. I really like Keira, but not really a fan of Kyra.

I would pronounce Keira as Keera.
Kyra sounds more like keyera.
Both are pretty, just whatever you prefer the sound of.

I like Keira or Kira, but would pronounce Kyra wrong.

What are your boys names? Do you have a second girl name? We may be able to give better suggestions with a little more data to work with.

This, to me Keira is pronounced differently than Kyra so that does not make it an alternative spelling of the same name.

Out of these two choices I prefer Keira, however my preferred spelling of this name is Ciara. It's a nice name! Good Luck.

Thanks for the feedback. Boy names we have chosen are Bennett Michael and Brady Dennis. If b/g twins, the boy will be Bennett.

I love the name Keira! Different but not crazy at all. But I don't think Keira and Kyra are the same name. One sounds like is Keera and the other sounds like Kira.

Honestly, I prefer the traditional spelling Ciara, but most people think that is said see-air-a. I went with Keira over Kyra, Kiera, or Kira, since most people recognized that as Keer-a, even though it's all the same name.
