Hello Ladies!! I am new to this blog and I hope I am posting in the correct board. I am just really looking for advice on others' experiences!
I used letrozole on days 3-7 of my cycle and on day 14 I got a trigger shot (pregnyl 10,000 unit) I tested on day 13 PTS (post trigger shot) and also on day 14 and now again on day 15 and all have been BFP! I have actually taken 6 different tests (three different brands) and all have been positive very quickly! I am wondering if the HCG is still in my system or if this is for real!??! My husband and I have been trying for over a year and are completely on a roller coaster of emotions. This is my third cycle with doing an hCG trigger shot. All three cycles have been 10,000 units. Can this build up? I had two mature follicles and doctor said very hopeful this month because of the size of those follicles! Being as it is Saturday, I am unable to go to the doctor. I am worried because I have been having cramps, bloating, VERY fatigued, hungry, and having headaches. All symptoms before my period comes. Has anyone ever experienced a trigger shot with this dosage?? Or experienced any AF symptoms and then finding out they were pregnant?? Can hCG be in your system and still get your period???? Please HELP!!
Re: hCG Trigger Shot Question
I never got to a trigger shot. My experience from the IF board though was that by day 9 or 10 the trigger was out of your system and people would try home pregnancy tests. I know there was a website people would refer to about when to test after a trigger shot but I'm not sure what the site was. All of that said, if it was an IVF cycle most RE's do an hcg level by 14days so I'd think the trigger should be out of your system.
Finally, I can say that I very much felt like I had the worst PMS of my life in the week before I got my positive test so it can feel very much like a period coming on. I'd recommend contacting your physician about getting bloodwork done to know for certain. Good luck and I hope this is a healthy pregnancy for you.
Thank you so much!! I really hope so too! We had a miscarriage in March and I had horrible pains in the first week! I just pray that this is also a healthy pregnancy!
I was reading on those websites and blogs as well. I am just curious if hCG can build up in your body?? This is my third cycle..
These next two days are going to go on forever! Thanks again for the response!
My triggers were always gone after 12 days, but everyone is different. While not the most scientific method, it may help to look at the color of your HPT lines. Is the test line getting darker? If so, that should not be your trigger. If I had to guess, I would say there is a strong chance of a BFP. But, I'm no doctor and there is no real way to know until you go to the RE for blood work.
I had AF symptoms with both of my pregnancies. Although, with this one I also took progesterone, so that probably made a difference as well. Super normal to feel like AF is on the way.
Best of luck with your cycle.
