Re: Lotion

  • J has eczema so he gets lathered in Aquaphor twice a day since it first flared up a little before their EDD, per pedi recommendation. S has perfect skin so I don't use lotion at all for him.

  • Pedi said not to use lotion unless his skin looked dry.  Unfortunately he has pretty bad eczema, so we use a lot of aquaphor when that flairs (only in the winter).

I started using it shortly after we brought her home. I think it was about a week before her due date. We use Aveno baby, but have used Aquafor sometimes on her thighs.

  • He had really dry skin while in the NICU. So I probably started putting baby lotion on him at a couple weeks old. The nurses reccomended I bring some in, so that we could put it on him at least once or twice a day.
My little pumpkin was born at 34weeks, weighing 3lbs, due to severe IUGR & Unexplained Placental Insufficiency. He spent 49 days in the NICU. Lilypie Premature Baby tickers imageimageimageimageimageimage
  • We started putting it on him while in the NICU...it was what they recommended.  I still put it on him every time I bathe him.

  • we use it every night at bedtime.  Our pedi never mentioned not using it.  We use J&J lotion.
  • The girls started having really dry skin about the time they were discharged (around 4 weeks old...and we live in the desert) so I used California Baby Extra Sensitive Lotion because it is unscented...in the NICU they always warned against exposing the girls to perfumes and such, so I played it safe.  I also put it on them after each bath.

  • I just recently started putting lotion on our LO.  She does not have dry skin, but we do it with a massage after bathtime.  Right now we are using Earth Mama Angel Baby.

  • We used lotion day 1. Once I took a shower and got to my regular room. I wiped LO off and put lotion and vaseline on her skin. I also use every morning and night.
