XP: 40 wk appt

Had my due date appointment with the doc today.  Still trying to keep it as natural as possible while being realistic and considerate of DH's feelings.

Between the doctor, DH, and I we all did some negotiating and this is what we came up with:

• Cervix check & membrane sweep today
• NST on Wed.
• Induction no later than Friday the 24th (a ripener if necessary, then break water and wait a while to see what happens before Pitocin)
  
  

I didn't really care about the cervix check, been refusing them until now, but they kind've come with the membrane sweep territory.

2cm dilated and he said he could feel the head.  The check and sweep were definitely uncomfortable but it was REALLY quick and not bad at all.

I had some spotting/bleeding afterwards which is to be expected.  Pretty crampy, in the beginning, but that's tapered off.

Fingers crossed for this to move things along!!!

ETA: Oh, yeah, and my doc wrote me off of work as of today!!

No, nothing is wrong.  He quoted some statistics on infant mortality rates once it's 10 days past due date which would be the 27th.  

I'm quite sure I could push for the 27th, but I need to take my DH's feelings into consideration and he's more of the "listen to the doctor" type.  

Not for certain, but I think it'll happen before then.  It feels like SOMETHING is going on.  *fingers crossed*
