I'm trying to find one, I'd love to do this with my DD. She loves water so I think it would be a lot of fun! Now to just find one that works for full time working parents. Not everyone can make the Monday 10am class pleasethankyou
Re: Swim Lessons anyone?
oh that's a great idea!
I just found one at Scott Highland Middle School! It's $55
Tue/Thu 10/16-11-20 5:35-6:05 pm
Age group 6-36 months!
Would you be interested in the Saturday class? Same price/location/age. 5:35 would be difficult for us twice a week.
Sat 9/22-11/17 9:15-9:45, 9:50-10:20, or 11:15-11:45
PM me if you'd like to do this together with our DDs.
PM sent
I did swim lessons with Z last month (we had to wait until he was 6 months old) and it was a lot of fun! The classes were mainly about introducing them to the water and getting them comfortable in it.
Just a heads up in advance -- youll probably have to dunk them under the water in your class eventually. The babies are fine, and instinctively know to hold their breath, but Im glad that my Mom mentioned it to me in advance.
Oh, and also if you can get your hands on a swim shirt try to have your LO wear it during class. Its not vital, but sometimes the water can be cold and I found it helped prevent Z's lips from turning blue immediately.

Cool! Yeah I read up on this and am prepared and aware of the dunking LOL I admit it, as much as I understand that they know to hold their breath etc it's still a bit nerve wrecking. Probably b/c I almost drowned as a kid. I still get a bit of anxhiety if I have to get my head under water
Parents don't have to do it right?
and thanks for the tip on the shirt!
We love our swim lessons! Adela has been in them for the last 2.5 months and we go Saturday's from 11:30-12:00. She did go under water the first time and cried like crazy and then the next time not so much and the time after not at all! She LOVES the water and is already kicking and learning to float. We now dunk her under and then she swims back up underwater all on her own!! Pretty cool to see. I have video I will have to post here! These are specifically for smaller babies (no toddlers thank you) so they are very comfortable and they are in a special baby pool kept at just the right temp and with a mixture of very low chlorine and salt water. Community pools can be way to cold for baby and WAY to over-chlorinated. They cost abot 78 bucks a month for four lessons but are totally worth it to me.
