I think today I am finally ready to admit I need help processing everything that has happened. For those of you seeing a counselor, how did you find them? I want someone who has experience dealing with preemie Mom's, and preferably moms of multiples, and pregnancy loss. I feel like I'm asking a bit too much so I'm not sure how to broaden the criteria to find someone.

Re: Finding a counselor
I used to see a therapist who specialized in pg women - she was through the same network that my OB was and leads the PPD open forums at the hospital. Otherwise, that's a very, very narrowed focus and I think you'll have to broaden a bit
You could call and see who leads your hospital's group and chase them down from there. It was just sheer luck that I found mine - and was already seeing her when I went into PTL. She has experience with that now!
I'm really glad to hear that you're reaching out and looking into going to someone, though. That's a huge, huge step.
Sometimes the right one isn't your first try - use your first session to interview them and tell them what you're looking for. Do you like reflective listening or do you want brutal truth comments and stuff like that...
I would also suggest calling the SW from the NICU.
My DH and I saw a counselor for IF- related issues and I am planning to see her because we already have an established relationship.
Having a preemie is so stressful and brings up all kinds of unresolved issues. GL finding someone you are comfortable with.

I will not be seeing my OB ever again as she told me I was overreacting when I was worried after going into labor at 28w.
