  • I'm more of a frozen yogurt girl - and I love vanilla tart or blueberry tart. If it is Ice cream, normally vanilla bean with some Kahlua or an espresso poured over it :)

What do you miss the most about the UK?

What do you like most about the United States?

Same sex couple TTC with donor sperm.  I am 35 and carrying.  Endometriosis and DOR.
    AMH 0.5, AFC 5-8, FSH 7ish

IVF #1 - antagonist.  Empty follicle syndrome.  1 retrieved, 0 fertilized.
    IVF #2 - antagonist.  Ovulated early.  3 retrieved, 2 fertilized, 0 blasts

  • What do you like best about where you live now? I love the amount of space we have, and the fact that there is a sunny upstairs where the cat can live and the downstairs is comfy for the dogs. They hate each other.

What is one thing you would change? I miss living downtown. The house we're in is in the burbs. We'll move to an area closer to the city probably after the baby is a year or so old (which could be years away from now or in two...who knows?)

  • What do you miss the most about the UK?

Typically my response is food related. I love that most foods are 'safe' and that additives are more clearly labelled. I miss sausage rolls, cornish pasties, walkers crisps, spud-u-like, british yogurt...the list goes on! :) I also miss the history and the ability to live very well without the need to drive. I miss the wider acceptance of the LGBT community. I miss going into central London most weekends. I miss the dry humour. I miss knowing that the word I am spelling is correct. :D

What do you like most about the United States?

I live in Colorado and I love the sunshine, I love how friendly everyone is and that I'm not constantly on guard waiting for the sarcasm (although I DO LOVE sarcasm), I love that the cost of living is much lower, I love love love the wide open spaces, I love the size of houses here, I love that many homes have more than one bathroom, I love the attitude of working hard to be successful, I love the American work ethic, the list goes on!

I am very bad at picking one favorite. Long long long story short, I love being here even though I miss home terribly some times :)

  • Why the heck did you leave London and come to the US?  Man, if we could move to London without immigration bs I think we'd do it in a heartbeat.  Except the cost of living of course.  Or maybe I'm just nostalgic for our younger carefree days spent in London....
TTC with PCOS since July 2011.
    IVF Oct/Nov 2012
    Beta #1 = 77, Beta #2 = 190, Beta #3 = 1044
    Cautiously optimistic.
  • Hah....don't get me wrong. I love London and I miss it. I accepted a job offer here without ever having set foot in America. I didn't like it here for the first few months it was a huge culture shock for me. Now that I've got my green card and I'm no longer on a work visa I feel less tied to my company, and I think that helps me to feel like the rug can't get pulled any second. Also, I grew up between the UK and several African countries, so moving just seemed natural.
