What do you like best about where you live now? I love the amount of space we have, and the fact that there is a sunny upstairs where the cat can live and the downstairs is comfy for the dogs. They hate each other.
What is one thing you would change? I miss living downtown. The house we're in is in the burbs. We'll move to an area closer to the city probably after the baby is a year or so old (which could be years away from now or in two...who knows?)
What do you miss the most about the UK?
Typically my response is food related. I love that most foods are 'safe' and that additives are more clearly labelled. I miss sausage rolls, cornish pasties, walkers crisps, spud-u-like, british yogurt...the list goes on!
I also miss the history and the ability to live very well without the need to drive. I miss the wider acceptance of the LGBT community. I miss going into central London most weekends. I miss the dry humour. I miss knowing that the word I am spelling is correct.
What do you like most about the United States?
I live in Colorado and I love the sunshine, I love how friendly everyone is and that I'm not constantly on guard waiting for the sarcasm (although I DO LOVE sarcasm), I love that the cost of living is much lower, I love love love the wide open spaces, I love the size of houses here, I love that many homes have more than one bathroom, I love the attitude of working hard to be successful, I love the American work ethic, the list goes on!
I am very bad at picking one favorite. Long long long story short, I love being here even though I miss home terribly some times
