Baby Names

How do you feel about..

Robin for a boy? I know it is a boy name but is it too much of a girls name too?

  • IMO its gender neutral.  It seems a bit feminine as a boy name, but it's still a respectable name either way.

For me, any name that can potentially be a boy and a girl (i.e. Adrienne/Adrian or Frances/Francis) name is too feminine for a boy.

  • All I can think of is Robin Williams. I don't like it for a boy.

Same here. To me it seems like a feminine male name and a masculine female name. I just don't really care for it. Sorry :(

  • i dont like it for either sex
  • I like it better for a boy but personally would avoid a unisex name for a boy.
  • While it was the name of my male Cabbage Patch Kid 25 years ago, I do think of a girl when I see it. In fact, it was on our list of names for DD.
  • I'm personally not a fan of many gender neutral names.  And that one leans feminine for me... but maybe because one of my best friends in elementary was Robin.

  • I actually like it for a boy but not a girl. I have known good male Robin's, so maybe that's why!
  • I have an unlce robin, never thought anything of it.  I'm sure you could use Rob or Robbie as NN if you're concerned.

  • I like some of the unisex names, but this one is just a bit too feminine sounding now.
