DD is Lilah and I am obsessed with the name Lola but its so matchy matchy with Lilah that I"m not sure I can get past it. I also love Luca, though not as much as Lola. Cora is another favorite, though DH isn't on board (he prefers Coral). I also love Luna, but its DHs cousins name so we wouldn't do that.
So, give me all your cute short girl names that aren't even remotely popular : )
(We are team green, so may not even need a girls name!).
ETA: We are well aware that Luca is traditionally used as a boys name, we just don't care. We believe that a name is that which you give to something. Its only a boys name because thats how people choose to use it that way. If we name a girl Luca, then it will fit her perfectly.
Re: Names similar to Lola, Luca, Cora
Rainbow Surprise Baby due 05/26/2017
I believe Luca is actually a boy's name, at least in Italian. Lucy, Leah, Laine. Sorry I'm not full of names today. I prefer Coral to Cora.
Hmmm...what about...
Coralie
Nora
Nova
Isla
Iris
Wren
Bryn
Faye
Aria
Zara
Zora
Maya
June
Willa
You're right, Lola is waaaaay too matchy with Lilah. Don't try to get past it. The combination is no good.
Lilah and Cora is cute, but Lilah and Coral is honestly better (are you sure you can't get on board with it?).
Luca is a boy's name, 100%. It has no business being used on a girl.
To avoid being too matchy, you might try names that don't begin with L, and/or don't end in A:
Ada
Ivy
Isla (eye-luh)
Britta
Callie
Dora
Della
Demi
Evie
Esther
Etta
Vera
Farrah
Gina
Maeve
Mae
Belle
Nova
Clara
Tara
Stella
Zoe
Tessa
Adele
Chloe
Zelda
ETA: I failed a bit at the "not even remotely popular" bit, so disregard the Top 20 names as needed.
Calla
June
Brynn
Gemma
Wren
Elsa
Celia
Ivy
Mae
Nora
I love names like Lola and Coral.
From my long list:
Ada, Anya, Elsa, Eva, Flora, Greta, Heidi, Ida, Iris, Isla, Ivy, Mara, Maya, Moira, Nina, Nora, Oona, Ruby, Selma, Vera, Willa
ETA: I also love Gigi, but only as a nn for Georgia or Virginia.
Luca is a boy's name in French, as well.
I'm using Cora if this baby is a girl. My DD1 is Liza, which I also love, but might be too matchy with Lilah. Oh and my cat's name is Lola so we must have similar taste in names
Let me think of the other names on my short list last time and I'll write another post.
I will add to the posters who commented on Luca being a boys name, we don't care : ) A name is that which you give to something. Its only a boys name because thats how people choose to use it that way. If we name a girl Luca, then it will fit her perfectly.

FWIW, I thought Luca was a girls' name when I first heard it. I still think it's girly. It's the A at the end.
To the OP, I'm interested in hearing which names you like of all the ones suggested. You seem to only have commented on Luca....but that was one of your own suggestions. You asked for ideas....do you like any of them?
I do! I love a lot of these names and there were some really great suggestions, many of which are right up mine and DHs alley. I'm just not sure any are a fit for us.
Some I really like from this post were Nova, Isla, Britta, Etta, Stella (love but DH vetoed, I also love variations like Estella, or Estelle), Astrid (also like Aster), I've always loved Kiera (not Keira) but now with the popularity of Keira I wont do it because I'm sure it would constantly be misspelled.
