Haven't been around in a really long time...? about naps

Hi everyone.  Hope everyone is doing well.  I've only posted a few times so pardon me for butting in I guess.

Anywho, in the past few days my LO has been napping really shiitilly.  Like up after 30-40 minutes or so.  I remember this happening with DD, but I don't remember when it happened and when it stopped.

Anyone else experiencing this?  Thanks!

  • This happened with DD1, but hasn't happened with DD2 yet. With DD1, her naps didn't start stretching out to an hour or longer until she was 6 months old or so.

  • My LO has seemed out of sorts the past couple of days. He has been taking cat naps during the day. Sometimes as short as 15 minutes.

I thought maybe it was because of the shots he got on Monday because he also has not been letting me put him down. I'm hoping he goes back to napping longer.

  • Yup, my DS is a terrible napper. He only likes to sleep on me or in his carrier, and never longer than an hour. 30 minutes is a great nap for him. I'm trying not to stress too much about it and figure that, like everything, it's just a phase for him.

Yeah.  It's most likely just a phase.  My daughter is the worst sleeper ever and she is now napping for an average of 2+ hours.  NEVER thought I'd see that happen lol.

  • My LO hasn't been taking long naps either.  However, he does sleep very well at night.  I guess I can't complain.

  • LO has a hard time napping too.

  • I guess I'm in the minority, but I don't let LO sleep more than an hour at a time during the day. We follow the EASY routine and he pretty much goes through that cycle every 3 hours during the day. It works out to about three one-hour naps spread throughout the day.

  • Maybe I'm a bad mom, but my LO doesn't have a nap routine. She just sleeps when she wants and we play when she wants. Some days she is sleeps all day and other days just a little! It never messes up her bedtime though.

Same here. My LO is 10 weeks and he stays up most of the day with a couple naps here and there. They might be 20 minutes or a hour, but it hasn't messed up his bedtime either.
