Baby Names

Need a girl mn

If baby is a girl we like Maddyn for a first name but are struggling with a middle name.  We both like Paige and dh likes Reese but I'm wanting something more gender specific.  Last name is very German 4 syllables ending in rader. (I know this board will hate first name, just looking for middle name suggestions)

Tia!!

Re: Need a girl mn

  • Just a personal opinion, but Maddyn is terrribbllleeeee. I can't even think of a MN for a name that sounds all boy if you can get past the made-up part.

  • First things that come to mind are Renee and Lucy.

  • Out of the 2 MN I prefer Maddyn Paige

     Maddyn Grace

    Maddyn  Elizabeth

  • I might take heat for this but I'm kinda diggin' Maddyn! It might just be my new GP girl name.

  • My ear likes the idea of a single syllable and starting with a soft consonant.

    Maddyn Lee

    Maddyn Lou

    Maddyn Belle

    Just my opinion.

  • Between the two, you should go with Paige. A good rule of thumb with unisex names is to use an obviously feminine or masculine middle name to avoid confusion.

  • Can you name her Madison and or Madelyn and NN her Maddyn. Imagine being 50 in a professional work place and your name is Maddyn. It'd be pretty terrible. It's cute when she's little, but as an adult not so much. And all I can think of is Madden football video game. . .  :-( BUT Madison Paige or Madelyn Grace are cute.

  • Elise.  That's all I've got. Other than I can't help but think "NFL video game" when I see the first name.

  • It really doesn't matter. I'm just thinking of John Madden. Don't do this to your little girl!
