I didn't want to post this on the recall board, because I didn't want it to bump the latest recall (the Bumbo seat) down on the list, but I have a recall question.
What exactly happens when a product is recalled? I saw on the news this morning that Bumbo seats have been recalled, and when I was in Target earlier I saw them for sale. If the recall was just announced this morning, would Target have been notified yet? Would those at a corporate level have been notified, but not necessarily stores? Now I feel really uneasy knowing that something that's been recalled is still on sale.
Re: Recall question
I know Target and BRU registries were affected right away. It just takes a bit longer for management to hear about it and get someone on the floor to start removing items. It's not a big deal if you buy something that's recalled. You can return it if you just bought it, or if it's been awhile since you bought, the company will provide you with directions to fix or replace the item.
My Maclaren stroller was recalled a couple years, I went to their site, gave them my info, and the sent the repair kit the stroller needed. Easy peasy.
Buy buy baby had them pulled off the shelves today.
This recall is stupid. If some idiot thinks it's safe to put their child in a Bumbo seat, place the seat on an elevated surface (even though there is a warning label saying not to) and then leave their child unattended, it is there own fault that their child ends up injured. The cause of these injuries is not product malfunction, it's parenting malfunction.
Sorry but I'm getting tired of product recalls that are clearly because of product misuse and not because the product is faulty.
