Re: Whats up

  • I know! I am having the same issue on droid. It is easier to respond though which is nice. It bounces between formats which is kind of annoying. Anyway, hi!

    check out my blog!

  • Yeah it's weird for Droid now too. I like the way it looks but not the fact that I can't navigate to other boards.
I guess it's a good thing that I have most boards that I frequent saved lol

  • I hate change.  Where are all the pregnant IFVs?  I try lurking on PAIF and it is like lurking on the IF board.  It seems like I don't really know anyone over there.

Glad you checked in...how are you feeling?

I am AMA and all tests on H came back normal
3 failed IVF with OE and 2 failed frozen DE cycles
Last fresh hail mary DE cycle starting Feb 2013
    PAIF/SAIF always welcome
  • Hey reb
Paif is so weird now. The vets feel very out of place. The definition of infertility is questionable over there. After several ivf's, it's annoying to read posts where people complain about having to wait a few wks to have sex. Come on?!

It is easier to respond, but no aviators...so u really have to be on the ball w user names.

  • Love the ease of replying with the new format...and that's about all I like. Hopefully they will clean up the common dislikes.

So true.  Heck, I spent a lot of time on the IF board up until 2 months ago, and I feel like I don't "know" 90% of the people posting on the board.  I don't know where all these people with their TI and 1st IUI success stories came from, but it makes me not really want to post over there all that often.

I feel like the practice of starting the "monthly groups" for those cycling, over on IF, is a double edged sword. It makes it great for check-ins for those cycling, etc, but it also makes it really easy for new posters to sneak in, cycle, get KU and then move over to PAIF. Some of them have such low post counts, or had been around so infrequently,  that in the past they would have been flamed for a drive-by, yet it's "okay" know because they are part of the monthly cycling group.

I relate with your thoughts on the double edge sword.  At first, I loved the idea of a "monthly group" on IF.  In theory, the "monthly group" was supposed to be a localized support group of familiar and active IF posters on the IF board undergoing IVF, then I saw exactly what you mention above.

To me, it seemed as though the regular posters would support and check in through the cycle and the drive by BFP's would come out of the woodwork on their beta day.  It added insult to injury.  Had to jump ship on all that!

Agreed completely!  I've now participated in four of the monthly groups since January and have witnessed it getting progressively worse each month.  And, from my lurking and comments from you all, it seems like PAIF gets the trickle-down brunt of it. Definitely a double edge sword.

Just wanted to jump in to say that this is frustrating me SOOO much about the IF board too and how much it has changed the posting dynamic, but I haven't had the nerve to say anything since everyone else seems to love being able to add those little badges to their signatures. :(

Married 8/2008. IVF with PGD March 2013.
    3/22 ER: 25R, 20M, 15F. 9 genetically normal, and 3 survived to Day 5
    3/27 ET: transferred 1 embryo, beta 9dp5dt=163, 12dp5dt=639
4/25 1st ultrasound at 7 weeks = identical twins with heartbeats?!!!
PPROM at 31w, delivery at 32 weeks of two beautiful girls

  • As vets was being established, i thought the groups were getting silly.  I can see a seasonal group (like spring or fall), but every month....make no sense and i think keeps people from forming a true sense of community.

People jump on, freak out for a month, get preg, freak out on paif about everything, never support anyone else (not in initial group), then disapper once they feel comfortable in their pregnancy.  Of course I'm generalizing, but u see my point.

Also, those badges strike me as uber queer (for lack of a better term and in a non derogatory way :)

Hey reb Paif is so weird now. The vets feel very out of place. The definition of infertility is questionable over there. After several ivf's, it's annoying to read posts where people complain about having to wait a few wks to have sex. Come on?! It is easier to respond, but no aviators...so u really have to be on the ball w user names.

I had to laugh when I read this post because I was lurking and just noticed a woman who had to take metformin for a month to get KU - oh the poor dear ....

Loved this... LOL. If only one simple drug could fix all our issues

    Multiple ectopics, 2 failed IVF's
IVF #1: Did not get to ET, embies all failed PGD (major chromosomal defects)
IVF #2: We have 2 chromosomally perfect embies as a result of PGD (Boy/Girl) 1 failed the thaw (Girl) Transferred 1, yet ended as a c/p
Thought it was the end of our TTC Journey 6/20/2012
SHOCK BFP 9/28/2012: IT'S A BOY! and everything is normal !!!!!!

Little A born 38w 2d on 05/23/13 and is a true miracle for this IF Vet!

So true.  Heck, I spent a lot of time on the IF board up until 2 months ago, and I feel like I don't "know" 90% of the people posting on the board.  I don't know where all these people with their TI and 1st IUI success stories came from, but it makes me not really want to post over there all that often.

i stopped reading people's siggys because i found myself discriminating (for lack of a better word).  But still, doesn't feel like home :(
