Fat Lip :

My DD took write a spill tonight and cut her lip with a newly sprouted tooth. She has a pretty swollen upper lip now. I tried to ice it, but she wasn't having it at all. I did give her some tylenol she had shots yesterday, so she's been on it for a fever anyway, and put her to bed after checking her over for any bumps on the head. Any advice as to how I can ice her lip to help reduce swelling in the morning?

  • When Chloe did this she wouldn't let us near her lip.  We just left it alone and the swelling went down on its own.  It was hardly noticeable after 24 hours.

  • I think it will go down on it's own fairly quickly but if you want to ice it, you could offer her a possible frozen chew toy or, even better, a fruit pop. What kid could ignore that?!
