Pedal adapters for a tricycle

Does anyone have a pattern/instructions for the wooden adapters you can make for tricycle pedals? They have velcro on them and are meant to help keep the child's feet on the pedals. DS is ready! Now we just need to get the gear.

TIA!

  • I'm not sure if these are the same thing you are looking for:

     https://www.amazon.com/Kettler-Kettrike-Tricycle-Toe-Clips/dp/B001EJL57S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344994768&sr=8-1&keywords=tricycle+pedal+straps

I bought these and they hold my son's feet in well. But make sure they are standard pedals they didnt fit on the pedals of a little tykes .

  • We use this stretchy rope stuff that the PT gave us.  You can put it through the pedals and tie it underneath and put their feet in it, it holds pretty well.  Sorry I don't know the technical term for the stretchy rope but I can certainly take a picture if you would like to see what it looks like.

If you don't mind, that would be great. The trike he used at PT and which I am hoping to purchase was a Fisher Price model, so I am anxious about buying a product that might be brand-specific, like the Kettler ones. The PT had this wooden doohickey on each pedal that worked great, but I am totally incapable of recreating that.

Thank you both for the ideas!! :)
