Bath time = FLOOD - a little help please :P

DD LOVES LOVES LOVES water! I give her a bath in the kitchen. I put her little tub on the kitchen counter and then use the hose from the kitchen sink to rinse her off. I tried giving her bath toys but she couldn't care less about them. All she wants to do is splash so after every batch the kitchen is flooded and I"m soaked LOL

Any tips? Our bathroom is super small and has such a dumb layout that I can't have her in the tub and tend to her properly. I'd basically have to either stand on top of the toilet or have my face in it LMAO

So how do I stop DD from turning our house into Soak City? Stick out tongue

  • You wait until she grows up a bit and grows out of the splash stage.  And then she'll get into a couple more stages where she gets everything wet again....

    awesome! LOL

I guess I'll just lay out towels on the floor, put on my bathing suit and off we go :P

  • Could you sit in the tub with her?  I know some people bathe their LOs that way.  If you can't, best I can offer is a tarp. :P

    LOL!

Yeah I was thinking of trying to get in the tub with her. It may be quite the mission impossible but at least we'll get a good laugh out of it. :P

  • I always sit on the edge of the tub, roll up my pants and put my feet in the water, would that work for you?

It might! I just always feel like I don't have such good grip on her if I'm bent over, know what I mean. But I"m probably overthinking this. I should just try it :)

    thanks!!

  • I have done it that way since he was a month old and didn't fit in his little tub anymore. We have one of those inclined things for him to lay on in the tub, works great and I think it was like 5 bucks at Walmart!

I may just put her tub in the big tub and then I can sit in there too... She can sit up in her tub since it has rubber at the bottom so she doesn't slide. I just like to lift her up all the way to rinse her off. MIL always tells me to just rinse her off with the water that's already in the tub, but how is that rinsing when it's soapy and "dirty" ... Otherwise I"m going to walmart! :)

  • since she's sitting up, maybe just a rubber mat that sticks to the floor of the tub and you getting in or sitting on the edge like PP said. i have a textured bottom on my tub so she doesn't slide around anyways, and i put her straight in there... in fact never even owned a baby tub... when she was a newborn i put a towel on the bottom of the tub and did it that way lol. Other thought, something that i'm thinking of trying, is getting one of those bath ring seats, i have one that attaches to the side of the tub and then they sit in it, and actually just showering myself with her in there and we both get clean at the same time. haven't tried that yet, but was thinking about it :)
