I will be 41 in October, Hubby will be 30 in December. I have 5 - he has none.
All of our tests came back normal. My HSG showed that I had a uterine septum - and my RE corrected that. It does not prevent pregnancy but can cause miscarriages and I did experienced recurrent pregnancy loss in my 20's and 30's.
I had a chemical pregnancy in August 2010 - and nothing since then.
I took Clomid cycle days 5-10. Day 3 sonogram was good. E2 was 63 I think. Day 10 sonogram showed 3 mature follicles (I was disappointed at first but then I earned that this is what RE's find optimal to have 3-4 maturing follicles. if I recall correctly, they were 17, 18, and 19 mm. I went back in on CD12 due to a false positive on the OPK - they went ahead and did an IUI that day while I was there. I went for my scheduled CD13 sonogram, Follicles had grown to 22,20,19. Tok Ovidrel trigger at 9:30 am Sunday. They did another IUI while I was there and confirmed positive on the OPK. CD14 - sono showed the follicles at 29, 25, with the third not able to be seen. Another IUI. This morning we went for sono and the follicles are collapsed indicating ovulation has completed. Now we wait for beta in 11 days.
Re: 40 years old, and just finished my 1st Clomid and IUI cycle
Welcome!
Am I reading your post correctly? You did 3 IUIs this cycle? Interesting approach -- I have heard of back-to-back, but not back to back to back.
Good luck!
Maybe the 3rd IUI's the charm.
Hi, and thanks!
I wandered into the Infertility board by accident, and ran into some not so nice folks over there when they learned this isn't baby #1 for me.. I could rant - but never mind!
yes. and I apologize, my post was probably confusing.. I guess I should figure out a good way to format my cycle activity.
There were actually 4 IUIs. I just didnt bother to mention the later but this is why:
I got a "false" positive OPK on Saturday morning which was CD12 - I called in as I was instructed and they said ok.. well come on in and bring a "specimen" with you just incase. So I got there and they did a sono and bloodwork and they said there was no surge, but since we had the specimen, they went ahead and did an IUI incase I ovulated that night and there was no point in wasting it. The next day, I was already scheduled for a CD13 scan, trigger shot, and IUI. I went in that morning and blood work showed my surge and my follicles were matured enough. I did the trigger at 9:30 am and they had us back at noon for the IUI. They always do an IUI the next day as well, so CD14 we went in for a sono and IUI. They wanted to see me in on CD15 to scan my follies which were still there so they went ahead and had us do another IUI that morning to "top off" the specimen - since it lives 48-72 hours. I didnt even mention the last one because honestly, hubby was depleted by that time and they only got about .6 mil after wash - but hey.. it only takes one. My RE and her staff were just so pleased at how everything was going - they wanted to make sure that we were staying on top of it. Normally, only 2 IUIs are scheduled in the cycle
Wow -- 4 IUIs and 7 ultrasounds in one cycle! As someone who is out of pocket, my mind goes straight to the infertility math!
Just a tip -- a lot of women on this board also post on IF. That isn't to say that you can't come over here and bad mouth that board (it's a free country/internet), but you may need to consider your audience a bit.
I know dear.. and thanks for the heads up. I won't go into details.. I've said my peace and Im not going to allow anyone to drag me into drama. I dont need any stress.. just waiting for my BFP in 11 days.. everything and everyone negative will be ignored.
And yes.. that does make for some great math.. at 40 - I could use some great odds
Good Luck to you and your 11 day wait!!!!!!!
I have posted on this and some of the other boards for ....way too long
In my experience, I consider many of the ladies posting on this site a wealth of info and generally have been able to "talk me down from the ledge" on many occasions. I will say YES sometimes I have heard tough comments but it is part of the process.......so you have to take the good and the bad.

Most of the women on the IF have never been pregnant and do not have any children so lurking on a board before posting is always a suggested practice. You would have probably quickly realized that your post (that you DD) was not appropriate. It is also IMO VERY tacky to go to other boards and say negative things about the women on other boards.
3 failed IVF with OE and 2 failed frozen DE cycles
Last fresh hail mary DE cycle starting Feb 2013
PAIF/SAIF always welcome
Thanks.. but I dont think that you read all of the posts.. there was more than one involved, and more than one person. The first post was somewhat polite.. albeit - still mean in nature.. because while Im a person that does not mind being corrected - tact should be used. So go back and read that post AGAIN from my point of view. I did not realize that the young lady was doing IVF. If Im to have a thicker skin, then I would suggest that same advice to others as well. The fact that you have told me that you are a moderator doesn't change how I feel about it - nor does it give you the right to assist others in bullying folks here.
Additionally, it seems to me, that everyone here wants to be "the know it all here. One of the ladies that we are talking about, actually told me that my RE's protocol is wrong. My RE and the labratory tech also said that the sperm lives up to about 48 hours and some up to 72 hours. I trust the judgement of my RE, and she has been dead on right about everything so far.
And to boot: I have never posted once or even gone on the Secondary IF board.. so that tells me that your information is second-hand from one of your cohorts.
You have your opinion about it, and I have mine. Im having a hard time believing that you actually read them, because thats really NOT what all was said.
Having said that: Thank you for your well wishes in my 2 ww.. and I wish the same for everyone else. Im not participating in anymore of this little cliques drama.
Thanks Dear...honestly.. I regret even entertaining this whole thing.. because these people are just obviously going to keep on and on about it. There was in fact more to it than what they are saying - they were unkind and tactless - and absolutely did promote the drama.. and I fell into it by my need to feel like I needed to speak up for myself. In fact, 2 of them have challenged my RE's protocol, as well as told me and Ive seen other posts where they are telling folks that they are wrong about things. There is a way to share opinions and information without being mean.
Anyway, Im very sorry that you even had to witness this exchange - after all.. we are here to support each other and exchange information.. not participate in high school drama
Except for that one time when you totally hijacked someone else's post I guess?
