NMR Anyone with a desk job preg +working from home?

Went in for my weekly check and am 3 cm dilated and babies are ready to come. I was advised to work from home in bed or take a vacation to try to keep these babies inside another week. Anyone work from home from bed or laying down? How the heck did you get comfortable??

  • I would have been asked to be written out already except for the fact that I can NOT get comfortable working from home!

I don't know if its the ergonomics of my desk or the big expensive office chair or what, but I can't work at my home office and a laptop is IMPOSSIBLE to use due to the giant belly. I feel you :(

  • There are days where I worked from bed.  it is not as comfy as my desk.  I have tried to make it more comfy but its not.  I have a laptop tray on the bed, with another table to set up a 2nd monitor.  It looks silly but it was the best I could do.

  • I work at home, but generally in my office or at my kitchen island. I've only worked in bed twice or three times, it just isn't comfortable. I'd recommend getting one of those firm couch pillows - the kind you use on the floor that gave two arms. Lots of pillows/ accent pillows to shove in places. Its a challenge to get comfortable that's for sure.

  • I am currently working from my recliner. I am not laying totally flat, but I am at a nice incline with my feet up. I keep a pillow on my lap and my laptop on top of the pillow. It gives me extra height to accomodate the belly.

I also keep a TV tray on each side of my recliner for all my "office supplies".

I actually start out the morning at my desk to check email and organize for the day while eating my breakfast. Then I usually gather everything I will need for the next few hours, head to my recliner and crank out the work. I have actually found that I am less distracted in the recliner and get ore work done.

I bought the recliner because I don't like the look of traditional gliders and the nursery is too small. I wanted something to look nice in my living room.

Well, I was on bedrest, but didn't quite get to work from home (long story).  Anyway, we got a rolling over bed table with the intention of being able to slide it over the couch.  Can't remember if I used it much over the couch but it made a good couch side table (still does).  I think I spent a lot of time reclined on the sofa with my laptop on my lap.  Good luck!
