DD had a crappy night. She was up for the fifth time at 2am and no amout of lullabies or rocking was getting her back down. Sometimes, if I bring her into bed with us and just lay down next to her for a few minutes she'll fall asleep and I can bring her back to her crib. So an hour later I gave it a try, but was so exhausted from being up all night that I ended up falling asleep too. Suddenly, there was a thud and a scream. She had fallen out of our bed.
She was fine, our bed isn't high and there's carpeting in our room, but I felt (and still feel) terrible about it. I even thought about pushing our bed against the wall before I brought her in should I end up falling asleep, but I didn't want to wake my husband and honestly didn't think I'd end up passing out.
My poor little munch. She was so scared.
Re: Guess I'm out for the Mother of the Year award
Aweee, Well first off I'm glad your munch is ok

And don't worry, I know nobody in the world can tell you anything that will make you not feel horrible about what happened. But just keep in mind, it happens to all parents, babies are sterdier than we think and we are all in for a lot of thumps, bumps and screams. You are still a super mama!!

My brother shared with me last night that I fell down an entire flight of stairs while in my walker. I still consider my mom MOTY every year!
