So I am feeling super low lately. I feel like parenthood is like swimming in pudding and I am drowning lol (still trying to keep a sense of humor). DS is amazing but he kind of has a whiney disposition and its really starting to get to me. Things have been really up and down with him. He is just now starting to sleep better and I know that will help. I just feel like Im doing everything wrong. Ok thanks for letting me put that out there.
Re: Feel like I'm not doing anything right
I had an evening last week where I felt like asking DH to stay home from work because I felt overwhelmed and like I didn't know what I was doing. I have depression, so I definately know the feeling.
Try to get a day (or even a few hours) away from DS where you don't have to be a mother. Get together with a friend or go see a movie. Even taking a few 'mommy' hours at home where you just pamper yourself is helpful. It will help you feel like your whole life doesn't have to revolve around this LO. You're still the person you were before the baby, and it's good to take care of you for a while.
When you feel like you're doing everything wrong, take a minute to breathe. Then really look at your baby. Is he healthy? Happy? Loved? Then you're doing a great job. The dirty little secret is that every other mom is winging it too and doing the best they can. You can do this!
