Just looked it up...either the Kangaroo or Hug is fine for a newborn - I prefer legs out positions personally as it's easier to get a better seat (you don't their weight on their feet) but either is ok.

OKay. I am going to try the hug position. Baby does not enjoy the kangaroo position.
